5Nice Amp
By M. D. Burns
This amp works well. We installed it with a pair of 12" subs, added a capacitor, and it does what it is advertised to do. It hits hard, sounds good and hopefully will prove to be reliable. We've only had it installed for two weeks now. It wasn't to difficult to install and wire up. If you are viewing the picture on this Amazon site, the two mounting holes that you can see are a little difficult to work with if you are mounting in a tight place. They are recessed so deep that you can't get your fingers in there to get your screw through the hole and start them in to your mounting surface. The only other problem I had was when I installed the capacitor, I had to put two power wires on the lug to the amp, which is not designed for that. It was a little difficult to get the screw to tighten up. If by chance you strip out the screw, the hole goes all the way through, so you can get your own small bolt, nut and washers, and replace the screw with that. You can actually tighten it better that way. Once I get it all mounted and wired, it fired right up and with a few adjustments to the low pass filter and input sensitivity, it was thumping! We noticed it does run pretty warm so we're considering putting a fan on it because the trunk has limited air flow. If you are looking for a good mono amp to drive a set of subs, this is a good buy.

5EXCELLENT!
By AUDIO ENTHUSIAST
I have had this Amp for almost 2 years now and it hits hard. I have it hooked up to 2 kicker competition 12s and they are very evenly matched. No capacitor and my lights do not dim and it runs cool. I have them wired at 2ohms in parallel and giving them 500w rms. This amp is amazing for its price and has been extremely reliable. I have read reviews about it not working after a few weeks and noticed that the common factor in these reviews is that they had it installed at a "professional" car stereo shop. I think the problem was with the person or rather shop that installed than the amp. I have been using Kenwood Amps since the early 90s and they have never made any unreliable amps in my opinion. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!! ESPECIALLY AT THIS PRICE POINT. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, BUY IT!!

4Good amp for tight budgets
By Jeff
Good amp, pushes the power it states.. Have it running a pair of Kenwood 12 shallows and it's a good combination. Honest 500+ watts at 2 ohms and doesn't overheat/shut down. NOTE THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE FANS as some sites report that it does.
